    Tue, May 26 School of Nursing 12 Week Session Begins  (S12)
    Mon, Jun. 1 Classes begin for new students in the School of Nursing's 12 month Accelerated Bachelor of Science program.
    HSC Summer Session MM Begins
    School of Health Professions Orientation for new students in Clinical Programs.
    Fri, Jun. 19 Juneteenth:  No Classes. Contact your school or program for additional  information.
    Mon, Jun. 22 HSC Summer Session Mod  9 and Session M begin.
    Sat, July 4 July 4th: No Classes. Contact your school or program for additional  information.

    Wed, Jul. 1 Classes continue in the School of Medicine for medical students in Phase II and Phase III
    Mon, Aug. 3 Classes begin in the School of Medicine for medical students  beginning Phase 1A and School of Dental Medicine 1st year students.
    Mon, Aug 10 Classes begin in the School of Medicine for students in Phase 1B and in Dental Medicine for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students.
    Mon, Aug. 24 Classes begin in Public Health; Nutrition; the Schools of Nursing; Social Welfare; Health Professions; and West Campus.
    Late Registration begins, $50 fee assessed to all students who are not enrolled in at least one course before August 25, 2025.
    Fri, Aug. 28 Last day for all students to submit major/minor or specialization changes effective for Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 term.
    Sun, Aug. 30 Last day for all students to drop a course or withdraw from the university without tuition liability(0%). Contact your Health Sciences school/program.

    For all students enrolled in full Fall term session code A; last day to add, swap or drop a class without a "W" being recorded. End of late registration. Tuition liability may applies. Petition to the respective HSC School or program required after this date.  All approved Late Add petitions will incur a $20 petition fee which will be posted to your account.

    Labor Day: No classes in session. Offices Closed.
    Mon, Oct. 12 - Tue, October 13 Fall Break: No classes in session except the School of Dental Medicine and the School of Medicine. School of Health Professions, please contact program for additional information.
    Mon, Oct. 26 Major/Minor Changes begin: Students can begin to submit Major/Minor changes effective for Spring 2026.
    Mon, Nov. 2 Winter and Spring 2027 registration for graduate and undergraduate students begins (not including non-matrics). Check SOLAR for enrollment appointments. 
    Wed, Nov. 25 - Sun, Nov. 29
    		 Thanksgiving Break: No Classes in session. Classes resume Monday, November 30, 2026. School of Medicine Break is Nov. 26 - 29, 2026.
    Mon, Dec. 4 Last day for Fall 2026/Winter 2027 degree candidates to apply for graduation via SOLAR.
    For Graduate, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Stony Brook Non Credit Career students, may apply for Spring (May or June) and Summer (July or August) 2026 graduation via the SOLAR system.  Students in SBNC career finishing in June apply for Summer.
    Mon, Dec. 7 LOA/Term Withdrawal: Last day to take a leave of absence or withdraw from the University for Undergraduate and Graduate students. Withdrawing or a leave of absence from the University must be processed by the student's Health Sciences school/program.
    Last day for removal of Incomplete (I) grades from Spring and Summer term.
    Mon, Dec. 14 School of Social Welfare: Winter recess begins at the close of classes
    Thur, Dec. 17 Fall Term ends:  2:00 PM for Graduate Program in Public Health; 5:00 PM for School of Nursing; at the close of classes for programs in the Basic Sciences and the School of Health Professions.
    Tue, Dec. 18 Winter recess begins at the close of classes for students in the School of Dental Medicine and School of Medicine students in Phase I and II.  Classes resume for Phase I, II, III medical students on Friday, January 1, 2027.  Contact your school for additional  information.

    School of Medicine classes resume for medical students in Phase I, Phase II and Phase III.
    Mon. Jan 4 Dental Medicine classes resume.

    		 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: No Classes in session.
    Mon, Jan. 25 Late  Registration: $50 fee if not enrolled in at least one class before session start. For session code add/drop dates see the Table of Session Dates below for Spring 2026.
    Schools of Health Professions; Nursing; and Social Welfare; Graduate Program in  Nutrition; Graduate Program in Public Health and West Campus semester classes begin.
    Dental Medicine Spring 2027 classes begin.
    Fri, Jan 29 Major/Minor Changes End: Last day to submit major/minor changes effective Spring 2026 Semester.
    Sat, Jan. 30 First Day of Saturday Classes: This includes East (Health Sciences), West and Manhattan campuses.
    Sun, Jan. 31 Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to drop a course or withdraw from the University without incurring tuition liability. Withdrawing from the University must be processed through your Health Sciences school/program.
    Fri, Feb. 5 Full Semster Spring Term: Last day to add, swap or drop a class without a "W" being recorded. End of late registration. A petition to your respective HSC School is required after this date.
    Late Course Additions: All approved Late Add petitions will incur a $20 petition fee which will be posted to your account.
    Mon, Mar. 15 - Sun, Mar. 21 Spring Break: Classes resume Monday, March 22nd. Students in the School of Medicine should contact their program  for information about Spring Break dates.

    		 Major/Minor Changes Begin: Undergraduate Students can begin to submit major/minor changes effective Fall 2027 Semester
    Mon, Apr. 5 Advanced Registration: Tentative date for Summer and Fall 2026 registration for graduate and undergraduate students (not including non-matrics). Check the Solar System for your enrollment appointment.
    Wed, Apr. 14 Graduation Application for Publication: Last day for students to apply for graduation and be included in the commencement publication.  Students apply via SOLAR.
    Fri, May 7 LOA/Term Withdrawal: Last day for undergraduate and graduate students to withdraw from the university. Withdrawing from the university must be processed through your Health Sciences school/program.
    Graduation Application: Last day for Spring/Summer degree candidates to apply for graduation via SOLAR. Applications submitted after 4/15/26 will not appear in the Commencement Publication.
    Last day for removal of Incomplete (I) grades from Fall and Winter terms.
