CCS 312 Cinema and the Ancient World (taught by Prof. Zenios).

EUR 447 Selected Readings in European Studies - Greek History through the ages with a sprnking of Greek literature (taught by Prof. Tsirka).
MAT 487 T06 Indep Study in Special topics (taught by Prof. Theodore Drivas.
- A tour through some of the mathematics of the ancient Hellenic world, focusing on deductions as to the shape of the world and scale/distance to neighboring objects in the solar system. This will take us through works of Aristotle, Pythagoras, Eratosthenes, Apollonius, Archimedes, Aristarchus among others. Along with following their methods, we will present a more modern spin on both the proofs and questions. The course is intended for a broad audience, with basic knowledge of geometric and algebra (for understanding original arguments), and calculus (used for a modern perspective).
