Ken Weitzman

Ken is a nationally-recognized playwright and Associate Professor of English and Writing at Stony Brook University.   As a playwright Ken's work has been commissioned and produced at major theatres across the country and received numerous awards.  His writing branches out beyond theatre, including a recent commission by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to write original content for their redesigned, innovative audio content.   

At Stony Brook, Ken teaches courses in dramatic writing in the English, Writing and Rhetoric, and Theatre departments.  In 2015 he received SBU's Godfrey Teaching Excellence Award.  Prior to Stony Brook, Ken taught at taught at the University of California San Diego, Emory University, and Indiana University (Head of the MFA in Playwriting).
