CREATING CONNECTIONS

Creating Connections introduces researchers to the science of science communication. Through the Alda Method® participants learn core principles of responsive listening and empathic communication. Participants begin to identify ways to build trust and engage others with their work.

This program can be delivered to small or large groups, from a research team to a large conference.

THE ESSENTIALS

The Essentials offers participants foundational skills and strategies for effective science communication through the Alda Method®. Participants also benefit from peer and expert feedback as they begin to create and deliver messages about their science.

This program offers a taste of our Signature Science Communication Experience. It is also a part of our Foundational Virtual Series.

The FOUNDATIONAL virtual SERIES

Serves up to 20 Participants | Three Modules | 3 Hours Each

A three-part series that adds individualized instruction and advanced training to our signature virtual program

The Foundational Virtual Series brings together three modules to offer participants a deeper understanding and progressive application of core science communication strategy and skills. Each module builds on another and leverages the Alda Method® throughout. A cohort of participants from your organization will learn and experiment with the fundamentals of effective science communication. This series is designed for a cohort of up to 20 participants to experience each session in sequence.

MODULE ONE: The Essentials 3 Hours	The Essentials offers participants foundational skills and strategies for effective science communication. hrough the Alda Method® participants learn core principles of responsive listening and empathic communication. Participants begin to identify ways to build trust and engage others with their work.
MODULE TWO: Small Group Coaching Two Sessions \| 3 Hours Each 10 participants per session	Participants apply lessons from The Essentials and practice talking about their work to non-expert audiences. Through peer and expert feedback, participants refine and improve their messages in a supportive, intimate session.
MODULE THREE: Science Through Narrative 3 Hours	Building on the skills and strategies of The Essentials and Small Group Coaching modules, participants learn to create memorable and engaging narratives about their research using narrative tools and techniques.
