Alda Center programs empower clear and vivid communication for organizations and individuals.

Individuals who want to improve how they share their work, collaborate with their colleagues, and communicate with different audiences should explore our New York City or California based workshops, also called Immersions. During these programs, you will hone your communication style, and meet and work with scientists and researchers from a variety of institutions and disciplines.

Regularly throughout the year, Alda-certified instructors host one of the Alda Center’s communication workshops in New York City. These workshops, founded in the Alda Method, are the same programs our instructors offer to organizations, including NASA, Yale University, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and hundreds of others.

People from all over the country and world are invited to apply to attend the workshop of their choice.

Alda Medical Experience

Upcoming Dates - NYC

All in-person programs are suspended until further notice.

$2,900 (includes taxes and fees)

Medical professionals are under tremendous pressure to provide high quality health care at a fast pace, provide and process digital information, and communicate empathically with multiple stakeholders. These ever-increasing demands increase stress and cause burnout. According to prevailing research, one of the most powerful ways to prevent and reduce burnout is to improve communication among healthcare professionals.

This two-day workshop helps healthcare professionals refocus their energies, reconnect with their passion for the work, and build strong professional relationships with their colleagues. It includes sections about leadership, negotiation skills, and team communication.

During the program, healthcare professionals learn to use empathy to communicate clearly and vividly with each other. Effective and empathetic communication helps to reduce stress and improve morale for each individual on the team, preventing burnout and ultimately improving patient care.

The highly interactive experience combines improvisational theater exercises and message-design techniques to help participants craft and deliver information that resonates. Applied improvisation creates strong, lasting interpersonal connections, and effective messaging strategies ensure participants can develop professional, effective communication for each of their audiences.
