This workshop, based on the latest social-science research, is designed to empower women and their allies as they challenge and begin to change the traditional power dynamics that can prevent female researchers from advancing in their fields. Participants will expand their awareness, cultivate new insights, and develop skills to enable each individual to build a future that allows all to thrive.
This highly interactive one-day workshop guides participants as they strengthen their skills in engaging in difficult conversations and in advocating for themselves and others more effectively. The training program includes professional development in persuasion, negotiation, listening, and presence, and allows researchers to connect with inspiring and like-minded colleagues.

Organizations can host a Power Connection workshop and bring Alda-certified instructors to their facility. Workshops are designed for between 16 and 32 individuals.

Workshops for Individuals
Individuals may attend one of our trainings in New York City. We offer the Power Connection in Manhattan once or twice a year through our Immersion program.
About the Workshop
The highly interactive program uses the Alda Method, a unique combination of improvisational theater exercises and message-design techniques, to enable attendees to engage more effectively with their audiences.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Use a new repertoire of skills to address gender-based communication challenges
- Listen, connect, and adapt in the moment, while maintaining authority and voice
- Engage in difficult conversations
- Navigate power dynamics
