Rachel Dávila Ramírez is a communications strategist, educator, and storyteller who connects academic innovation with public impact. Her work blends creative strategy, digital design, and narrative immersion to bridge scholarship and society. As Director of Communications for the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, her work bridges creative strategy with public engagement.
With more than a decade of experience, Rachel has consulted on marketing and communication projects for private and nonprofit institutions. She previously served as the lead digital content and communications strategist at the Tenement Museum, spearheaded digital marketing at the CUNY Graduate Center, and led communication and marketing at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. She holds professional certifications through PRSA, the American Marketing Association, and the Digital Marketing Institute, and has been invited to speak on marketing panels and higher education events.
Rachel also holds a joint appointment with the School of Communication and Journalism, where she develops messaging and creative assets that amplify institutional research, understanding, and community partnerships. Guided by a simple compass — to communicate with honesty, design with intention, and lead with empathy — she brings clarity and purpose to every story she helps build.
