Louisa Johnson is a lecturer at Stony Brook University. She received her bachelor's
degree in Theater Arts and Philosophy from Stony Brook University, where she was elected
to Phil Beta Kappa. She earned her master's degree from NYU Tisch in Acting. She worked
as a professional actor in New York, appearing on stage and on screen, but she always
felt that theater ought to serve a broader purpose.
Louisa now works with the Alda Center's team of applied improvisation experts to develop curriculum, and also teaches applied improvisation-based courses to scientists at Stony Brook University and leads professional development communication programs for scientists all over the country.
